My best friend – who is an occupational therapist by day and a make-up maven by night – gifted me an EcoTools blusher brush last year. I hadn't heard of the brand before then but she assured me that their cruelty-free eco credentials matched my own (because she's nice and thoughtful like that).
The first thing I noticed upon removing it from its fabric sleeve was just how soft it was. I instinctively swept it across my cheek and along my fingers the way a child would drag a mallet along a xylophone. From the first use, I was completely convinced.
The Complexion Collection is EcoTools' new range of hybrid brushes that can be used to apply make-up and/or skincare products – perfect for keeping fingertips away from face at all times.
The set contains a Correcting Concealer brush, an Eye Perfecting brush, a Skin Perfecting brush and a Mattifying Finish Brush, each designed to aid common skincare concerns like fine lines, dark circles and oily skin.
The synthetic bristles are different lengths so powder/liquid concealer/creams go on smoothly and evenly and can be blended easily. And the bamboo handles are well weighted and balanced so that the brushes sit nicely in your hand.
I used them for a week before cleaning them under running water with some Castile soap and they looked like new. (It said on the box that the bristles shouldn't be submerged in water, but that's the case with most brushes). I can't recommend them enough.
