Nathalie Bond: Rose Geranium & Patchouli Soap

As a little girl, I would look at the pretty oval nutty soaps in my aunt's bathroom and think to myself, "This lady's got it together." That my aunt would spend a bit more on something so otherwise quite ordinary spoke to how much she valued herself. I aspired to one day have fancy soap of my very own. And that day is today.

Handmade in small batches at Nathalie Bond's studio in the Peak District, each wash block starts as a blend of clays, cold-pressed coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, olive oil and shea butter before the fragrance is determined by distilled essential oils. At present the range contains seven different scents – with varying active ingredients – my favourite being Rose Geranium & Patchouli.

If you were to go very minimal with your skincare routine, you could use this soap for cleansing your face, washing your hair, hands and body. The vegan-friendly, vitamin E-enriched formula leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, not at all dry or tight. Used daily, one block will last about four weeks.
