Square Organics is a confectionery company based in Alameda, California. Founded by Sarah and Andrew Gordon, Square's signature product is the Squarebar, a chocolate-coated organic dairy-, gluten-, and refined sugar-free protein bar.
Each bar is made with coconut nectar, whole grain rice protein, dark chocolate, coconut oil, oats, cocoa liquor, brown rice crisps, and flavoured with natural ingredients. At present, there are five flavours: Almond Spice, Chocolate Crunch, Cherry, Coconut and Mint.
They are gooey – almost fudge-like – in the middle, with a thin, hard layer of chocolate on the outside. The chocolate is rich and dark, which stops the bars tasting too sweet. Each 48g bar contains 12g of plant-based protein so they are great for a post-workout energy boost. I personally can't get enough of them, and have been known to eat three in a day, but if you're especially mindful about your sugar intake you might want to limit yourself to just one as they contain 13g of sugar (but good luck with that because they are soooo moreish).
