I make this smoothie when I want to stave off a 4pm Toffee Crisp craving. It's sweet and creamy, almost like drinking a melted tub of strawberry ice cream through a straw (I would imagine...) Loaded with vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids, the fibre in the fruit will prevent a blood sugar spike while the banana, maca powder and chia seeds will keep you feeling sated until supper.
250ml Almond Milk
7 Strawberries, frozen
3 Medjool Dates, pitted
1 tablespoon of Chia Seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon of Maca Powder
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Himalayan Salt
Place the ingredients – minus the chia seeds – into a blender.
Blend on a high speed until smooth.
If using chia seeds, stir them in and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
